1. To establish more effective lines of communication among instructors and academic advisors from CCC, CSU, and UC about their shared vision and expectations for transfer students in biology
2. To gather information needed to determine if a disarticulation in biology curriculum and prerequisites exists between CCC, CSU, and UC
3. To engage in conversations that build awareness of biology curriculum alignment between CCC, CSU, and UC, and initiate efforts towards better supporting a successful learning progression for transfer students
4. To discuss the disadvantages transfer students experience relative to the freshman-start cohort students when entering the upper-division curriculum
5. To discuss how the rapidly changing pace of research and technology in the biological sciences is impacting curricula and requirements at UC, CSU, and CCC
6. To discuss instructional interventions and new teaching methods that could break the “sink or swim” instructional model that has aggravated transfer students for decades.
