About me

Juan Morales-García is an Associate Professor and Researcher at the Computer Science Department, Catholic University of Murcia (Spain). He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the Catholic University of Murcia in 2020, 2021 and 2023, respectively. His current research interests include Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning & Deep Learning), High Performance Computing (HPC), Edge Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Pervasive computing.

In the context of his academic background: In 2015, he initiated his studies in Web Application Development (DAW), culminating in 2017 with a GPA of 8.6. In the same year, he embarked on a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, concluding in 2020 with a GPA of 9.35, attaining numerous honors and the Extraordinary End of Degree Award. Subsequently, he pursued a Master's in Teacher Training, completing it in 2021 with a GPA of 9.55. Finally, he accomplished his Doctorate in Computer Technologies and Environmental Engineering, graduating in 2023 with a distinction of "Sobresaliente Cum Laude".

In the context of his professional experience as researcher: He possesses a five years research background, commencing in April 2019, during which he has authored numerous scientific articles in high-impact journals (JCR) and contributed to various research projects. Specifically, he has a total of 10 scientific publications in SCIE journals (5 in the first quartile, 4 in the second quartile, 0 in the third quartile, and 1 in the fourth quartile, according to JCR 2022). He also has several contributions to international conferences, including 5 publications in the main track (CORE B) and 4 workshops. Additionally, he has served on the scientific committee of two workshops at an international CORE B conference and one main track at an international IARIA conference. Two distinct grants have been awarded for his research, with one being the FPU, though it was declined due to incompatibility with another university teaching contract. All his research is part of two competitive public call research projects, with the role of researcher in one of them and working team in the other. In addition, he is a member of a consolidated research team known as Universal Knowledge Enhancement by Multidisciplinary Implementation (UKEIM). Finally, he is an technical evaluator expert of Research and Development (R&D) projects belonging to European Quality Assurance (EQA).

In the context of his professional experience as professor: He has a three years teaching experience, starting in September 2021, during which he has taught numerous courses in various university programs. In summary, he has delivered a total of 1063.36 hours of teaching in Computer Engineering (mainly), Telecommunication Technologies, Criminology, and Marketing and Commercial Management degrees, focusing on computer-related subjects. He has supervised 17 Bachelor's theses, 10 Master's theses, participated in 18 Bachelor's thesis and 14 Master's theses defense panels. In terms of teaching innovation, he has one publicated article. Additionally, he serves as the coordinator for the Scientific Olympiads and the Science and Technology Week in the computer science department at the University of San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM).
