I am an Associate Professor with the Polytechnic School at the Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM), Murcia (Spain). Since September 2018, I am the Secretary of the TCIA Doctoral Program. I lead the EcoArTech lab.
Short biography
José L. Abellán received the BS, MS, and PhD degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of Murcia, Murcia, Spain, in 2007, 2008, and 2012, respectively. He is currently an associate professor with the Polytechnic School, Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), Murcia, Spain. Prior to joining UCAM in 2014, in the summer of 2011, he was a predoctoral researcher at the University of Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy. From 2012 to 2014, he was a postdoctoral researcher with the ICSG research laboratory, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA.
He has authored over 50 refereed publications and 1 book. He has served as a TPC, as a Chair (program, publicity, session, and track chair), and as a co-organizer in numerous conferences and workshops. He is a full member of the HiPEAC European network, a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of the Spanish CAPA-H network, and a member of the ACM TACO distinguished reviewers Board. He was the recipient of a HiPEAC 2011 collaboration grant, the best paper award at IPDPS 2011, and the HiPEAC 2019 and 2020 paper awards. His research interests include HW/SW co-design for energy-efficient HPC and edge computing.
