Coach Maggie Thompson

Coach Maggie is heading into her fourth year as head volleyball coach at Ursuline Academy and has over ten years of playing and coaching experience. She currently coaches for Krewe Volleyball Club in New Orleans as a specialty training coach. 

Prior to her coaching days, Coach Maggie played high school volleyball at St. Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles, LA and played for the Louisiana State University Club Volleyball team. 

Coach Maggie began her coaching career at Ursuline Academy in 2019 under head coach Jay Jay Juan. During her three years as an assistant coach, she was a part of a division III quarterfinal appearance in 2018, division III semifinal appearances in 2019 and 2020, as well as division III district 10 championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Coach Maggie was promoted to the head volleyball coach in 2021. She led the team to a division III district 10 championship in 2021 and was named Coach of the Year. 

In her five years as a coach for Krewe Volleyball Club, Coach Maggie's teams have received many top three finishes including 2nd place at Storm Invitation 2020 (13s), 2nd place Bayou Regional Championship 2021 (16s), 3rd place Storm Invitation 2021 (16s), 2nd place Governor's Games 2021 (16s), 1st place Governor's Games 2022 (17s), and 1st place Bayou Region Championships 2022 (17s). 

Coach Maggie loves having the opportunity to build girls' confidence through the sport of volleyball. She believes player development is more than just teaching volleyball skills, but the emotional and mental aspects of the game that translate off the court as well.
