Hands-On Workshop: Pinhole Photography
Participants will make pinhole cameras out of recycled beverage cans. We will learn how to load and install the cameras we make, which will capture the movement of the sun across the sky over several months. We will view a series of pinhole photographs created by students in a second-year literature classroom and explore ways to incorporate the hands-on study of the history of photography into History, Art History, and Literary Studies courses. In a follow-up workshop, to be held online in September, participants will share the images they created and reflect on their experiences. Pre-registration is required and limited to 18 participants. There is no cost to participate; all materials will be provided; no experience with photography or hands-on making required. To register, please indicate your interest in participating on the registration form.
