The success of a team depends critically on leadership. Successful team leaders are:
· Transformational,
· Empowering,
· Inclusive,
· Able to negotiate conflicts,
· Providers of good feedback and encouragement
Still, there are different styles of successful leadership:
An individual initiator who becomes polyvalent in his or her capacity to undertake research
A two‐person team where a duo from different disciplines meet (sometimes by chance) and find areas of common interest
A mentor who creates a forum for individuals to work together in a relatively modest program
