The National Park Service also adapted from the Arizona State Museum a set of descriptors of provenance (and provides abbreviations for each). It is argued in the paper that combinations of terms capturing directions, parts of a house or property, mathematical terminology, and geological descriptors, would address these various descriptors. The list is provided here, with some brief commentary [in square brackets] on certain terms.
These are generally either directions (in three dimensions) or places within a house or property. The latter should be captured under NB. Others are designated.
