This is an adorable book told from the perspective of a black child adopted by two white fathers. He explains that his birth mom was "too sick to take care of children, but Daddy and Papa wanted a baby just like me!" Daddy and Papa did a lot of work to prepare for a baby, from meeting with a social worker and having their house certified as safe to filling out lots of paperwork and learning how to keep a baby safe and healthy. When he meets his fathers for the first time, he runs up to them and says, "Ga!" He has lots of friends and family, and finishes out the story by saying, "We play, talk, read, hug, and sometimes fight, just like other families. I love my Daddy and Papa with all my heart."
