Parenting  Adolescents Study

Despite an abundance of available parenting information, parents today are often unsure about how they should parent adolescents and how to access empirically sound information that is relevant and useful to them. This uncertainty is even more pronounced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The current study aims to gather detailed information from parents and adolescents about parenting styles, parenting and adolescent stress levels, and overall adolescent wellbeing across 3 distinct age cohorts.

This project is funded by a grant from the Killam Research Fund.

We Are Recruiting!

ARE YOU A PARENT OF A TEEN 13-19?

We are currently recruiting parent-adolescent pairs to participate in a study.

The University of Alberta LEAP Lab is conducting a research study on parenting adolescent children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participating in this study can offer you a chance to learn about you and your adolescent!

How long will this study take?

Parent-adolescent pairs will each complete a survey and an optional interview. The survey will take about 30-40 minutes, and the interview portion would be about 45 minutes should you opt to participate in it. In exchange for your participation, you will be provided with a $25 Chapters e-giftcard!

How to get involved?

If you are interested in participating in this study with your teenager, please complete the following parent consent form and have your teenager fill out the appropriate consent form by age.
