This summer the DigitalNWT team faced an interesting challenge brought on by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, and exacerbated by the limited high-speed Internet access in many NWT communities. Due to social distancing measures, we were unable to deliver our annual ‘train-the-trainer’ session in person, and so had to experiment with online and distance education approaches.

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) recently announced a grant of $2.7 million to support DigitalNWT, a four-year initiative to support community-based development of digital literacy resources in the Northwest Territories (NWT). The funding is provided through the Digital Literacy Exchange program.
