The Benefits of Sleep

Although they never seem to last as long as we want them to, summers in Edmonton are packed with things to do. With more hours of sunlight, bustling patios and a festival for everyone, it can be tempting to stay out late and take it all in, especially in between work  or class. However, the importance of a good night’s sleep cannot be overstated.

Regulating your sleep schedule is just one of the many ways to care for your physical and mental health. Maintaining good sleep hygiene will ensure that you wake up refreshed and have the energy to successfully accomplish all of your workplace tasks while fitting in some summer fun.

According to a Canadian public health campaign called Sleep on It, 18-65 year-olds require seven to nine hours of sleep every night to feel well-rested the next day. You can also download a healthy sleeping app, complete a sleep journal, or simply put your phone away before going to bed.

We hope that these tips help you make the most of working and playing this summer!
