So, you’ve completed your required resume and cover letter critique appointment with the Career Centre and you’re ready to dive into the job search stage. Or maybe you’ve been applying to opportunities for a while now, and haven’t had any luck. Here are some simple job search tips to keep in mind while applying for positions:

Don’t just apply for the job - Consider scheduling an informational interview with someone that works for the organization or even the hiring manager!
Create a LinkedIn account for recruiters to find you. Check out the Career Centre guide for creating an online presence.
Be open to receiving feedback on your resume, cover letter and interview skills. Always ask for feedback after an interview as this is how you will improve your interview skills!
Consider following up after an interview to thank the hiring committee and to potentially keep in contact and build your network even if you don’t get a job offer!
