Avoiding Job Search Burnout

Burnout is common at this time of year, especially if you’re in the middle of a job search. Here are some tips for taking care of yourself while looking for work.

Pace yourself. If possible, schedule some time every week to apply for positions, even if it’s only an hour. This will help you apply for jobs consistently without exhausting yourself.

Set up notifications. Many job boards, including the AWE job board, have a function that allows you to save specific search terms (job type, location, company name, etc.) and receive email notifications when new jobs in those categories are posted. This helps you spend less time searching for jobs and acts as a reminder to apply!

Seek support. If you need career-related support, you can contact your Work Experience Coordinator. You can find out who your Work Experience Coordinator is by going to the Arts Work Experience module in campusBRIDGE.
