Community Engagement and Youth Empowerment
The theme for December 2023 for Engage Edmonton is Community Engagement & Youth Empowerment.
On Friday, December 1, 2023, we'll be volunteering at the iHuman Youth Society.
iHuman Youth Society is a non-profit organization that engages Edmonton's marginalized youth to foster positive personal development, well-being, and social change.
Volunteers will support the Family Room staff with regular maintenance of the program area and have the space ready for programming the winter season. Support with this project will impact the successful delivery of the Family Room programs, such as the Woven Journey, a group for young Indigenous mothers and their children who meet twice a week.
Tasks may include:
Play area: Help to organize toys in the children's areas.
Kitchen area: Help with maintenance and clean up of kitchen area, cabinets, sort food, etc.
