Biography
Juan Antonio López Ramos is a Professor at the Departament of Mathematics in the University of Almeria. From 2008 to 2018 he served as coordinator of Mathematics by the University of Almeria for accessing the University.
He received the Diplom in Mathematics from the University of Almeria in 1995 and the Ph. D. in Mathematics form the University of Almeria in 1998, after defending his Ph. D. thesis entitled Gorenstein Graded Relative Homology.
During the academic year 1995/96 he was teaching assistant under the programm Formación de Personal Docente de Universidad at the University of Almeria. From 1996 until 2001 he was Assistant Professor at the Department of Algebra and Analysis at the University of Almeria and from 2001 to 2017 he served as Associate Professor at the University of Almeria.
During the academic year 2000/01 he was a post-doc researcher at the Department of Mathematics in the University of Kentucky under the program Programa Sectorial de Becas de Formación de Profesorado y Personal Investigador, del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte of the Spanish Government.
In 2015 he was a visiting professor in the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Zurich under the program Salvador de Madariaga 2014.
His research interest includes Ring Theory and Modules, Algebraic Coding Theory and Cryptography and Applications.
He is associate editor of the journal Asia Mathematika, reviewer for the AMS Mathematical Reviews database, he has been part of the scientific committee of several international conferences and from 2015 until 2018 he has been a member of the coordinatior committee of the Spanish Network in Coding Theory and Cryptography MatSI.
