Nearos is an L3 high-powered rocket designed with two payloads. A controls payload and a science payload. With the purpose of bridging the gap from high-school amateur rocketry to serious rocket engineering.
Nearos makes a great project for people both new and experienced in the field of rocketry, programming, electronics, or controls.
A ham radio powered real time science payload, designed as a starting point for the project. Using a ground station and onboard computer we will track the rocket telemetry as we fly the mission
A second payload on board Nearos will use canard active stabilization. Using complex controls methods the rocket will self stabilize to a heading without the need to talk to the ground.
