The Mesmer Research Group (MRG) was founded in the Fall of 2014 by Dr. Bryan Mesmer. Our lab houses research on the theory underlying stakeholder-focused engineering, focusing particularly on examining preferences and mathematical modeling in systems engineering. Our research team at MRG includes graduate, undergraduate, and professional researchers as well as faculty from systems engineering, psychology, theatre, philosophy, computer science, and mechanical engineering. We work with high impact stakeholders including NASA, SERC, Army, ALDOT, Navy, and industry partners on research projects that are developing the future of systems engineering. Some of our recent publications involve game theory, ontologies, systems architecting, and value modeling regarding many different systems including NASA space launch systems and human landing systems, weapon systems, space stations, electric vehicles, game systems, Mars transport systems, next generation Mars flight vehicles, small satellites, theatre productions, and, most importantly, human systems. These systems offer complex, multidisciplinary challenges to explore in research questions. Our philosophy is to pursue creative and novel research in the foundations of SE to enable a reimagining of systems engineering
