As a student of Oceanology I am driven by deep fascination for life in all its forms and its intricate connection with ecological and human systems. My research focuses on the southernmost distribution limit of Macrocystis pyrifera in Baja California Sur, an emblematic species of our coastal ecosystems that is currently facing critical conditions. I seek to understand the oceanographic, ecological, and social factors that shape its persistence and spatiotemporal transformation.
Through scientific diving, I have had the opportunity to explore the beauty and fragility of marine ecosystems, learning from both science and the silent and magnificent language of the ocean. My work integrates oceanographic analyses, ecological assessments, and local ecological knowledge to build a more holistic understanding of coastal ecosystems. I am motivated by the desire to contribute to their conservation through science that combines sensitivity, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to life in all its forms.
