Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For example, a student may be assigned to represent the country of Nigeria and will have to solve global topics such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change from the policies and perspectives of the Nigerian government.
We will learn how the United Nations works and then decide which MUN conferences we want to attend this year. Conferences are virtual or in person (funding and cost dependent). Once we register for a conference, we will be assigned countries and topics to prepare to discuss at the conference.
