How Donald Trump and General Augusto Pinochet Targeted Female Voters through Gender Stereotypes in Political Advertising

A research project by Kendall Gail, Northwestern University

My Research

My research seeks to analyze campaign materials and personal messaging from Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection bid and General Augusto Pinochet’s 1988 campaign with a focus on identifying authoritarian themes in order to examine how both men attempted to mobilize their female supporters by reinforcing gender stereotypes in their campaign materials.
