A native of  North Carolina I graduated from Fayetteville State University (FSU) a Historically Black College in North Carolina with a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. I received my Master of Science degree in Mathematics from FSU as well. 

I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University (NU) in Evanston IL. I've earned a Master of Science degree in Earth and Planetary Science and a Certificate in Data Science from NU. I'm a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, NU IDEAS , GEM , and NSF STEM Education postdoctoral fellow. 

I'm a STEM educational professional with 10+ years of experience related to research in STEM education. My research interests lie at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Data Science, and Education. I use my background skills and program experiences to design learning environments to improve user-related outcomes for K-16.
