Whenever you attend training that meets the Illinois School Board of Education (ISBE) standards for Professional Development, you can earn Professional Development Hours (previously referred to as Continuing Professional Development Units, or CPDU's). Depending on your particular program, you will need these hours to renew your Professional Educator License in Illinois and you can use them to accrue Professional Credits to advance on the salary schedule in U-46. PLEASE NOTE: The PD hour forms that you accrue during NTO can be used for Illinois Licensure but cannot be submitted for Professional Credits as you are being paid an hourly wage for the time spent during NTO.
