Chartered in 1937, Kane County Teachers Credit Union was formed through the tireless efforts of Miss Martha Black, a teacher in the then Elgin Public School District, and Mr. E. Earl McCoy, then Kane County Superintendent of Schools. Since that day, we have been dedicated to living the credit union philosophy of people helping people. Originally, KCT was chartered to serve teachers of Kane County. Throughout the years, KCT has broadened our membership field to offer financial literacy resources and services to our surrounding counties. KCT Credit Union is your local community credit union and we strive for excellence in serving our members.

"Located directly north of Kimball Street on the Fox River, the new Gail Borden Public Library stands as an impressive building to view, day or night, from its location at one of the major gateways to a revitalized downtown Elgin. Designed to blend with both the old and the new architecture of the area, the Prairie School-inspired exterior of the new Gail Borden Public Library creates a striking image from all directions."
