Born in Tijuana, Mexico, Miriam Vazquez comes from an extensive family of musicians originating from the Mexican states of Jalisco and Sinaloa.
Currently, she serves as Director of Mariachi Arrendajo Azul at Bailey Middle School in the Clark County School District headquartered in Las Vegas, NV.
She moved to Las Vegas from San Jose, California where she had worked with the Mexican Heritage Corporation as a mariachi instructor and consultant for the Davis Unified School District.
In addition to serving as an educator, musician, and vocal coach, Miriam is a highly regarded composer.
She was honored most recently by winning First Place in the Song Writing Division of the National Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza.
