Written assessments are an integral part of how Mathnasium works, providing the information necessary to determine which topics to put into a student's learning plan. This guide reviews how to give a written assessment.
Step 1: Review previous written assessment OR verbal assessment
If assessing a student who has completed a verbal assessment, review your notes as these can be helpful in determining their ability level.
For all other students, you can review past assessments and completed Mastery Checks to help determine assessment needs.
Step 2: Determine assessment based on math ability
You can use the following list as a rough guide for determining which assessment to give based on their previous assessment score
If below a 50%, give them a post-assessment at the same level
If between 50% and 60%, use your best judgement to determine next assessment
If above a 60%, give the next assessment level
Aim for an assessment in which you think the student will score between a 30% and 70% score
Step 3: Assign and print assessment from Radius
Find the Student's page in Radius
Search under Student Management or use the search icon in the top right
Select Add Assessment under the assessments section
Find the assessment you wish for the student to take
Print the assessment
Use Blue paper for Pre-Assessments
Use Green paper for Post-Assessments
