*EDITS FOR ASMT RESULTS TEMPLATE NEEDED*
When a student finishes an assessment with us and we create a learning plan, it is vitally important that we discuss the results with the guardian so that we can share the success and give them the plan moving forward. This guide will review how to complete an assessment results meeting.
Make sure you generally know how well the student did by reviewing important information
Look over the Learning Plan and make sure you understand why the student is focusing on these topics
If it's a post-assessment, review the pre-assessment as well and see what progress the student has made inbetween
Make sure not to keep them waiting!
Greet them by name and tell them you're looking forward to going over things with them
Give the parents to talk to you about any concerns they may have
You can ask them how their student is doing in classes and see if they've noticed any improvements in confidence
Review the assessment with the parents and discuss any insights you had while grading it
This part of the meeting can be brief! Parent's do not need details on every single missed problem
Again, no need to go into too much detail with this part of the meeting
Review the main focuses of the learning plan
I.e. - You can mention that 'Fractions' or 'Word Problems' are one on the main focuses for the new plan
Do your best to estimate how long this learning plan will take
Generally takes 3-5 months, but could be longer or shorter depending on the student
Let them know what progress you expect by the end of the learning plan
Tell them what assessment you expect the student will take next
Compare this with their goal's for the student (catching up, getting ahead, etc.)
Answer any questions or concerns they may have
