English Week Presentations
The English teachers, in collaboration with the Academic Affairs Office, have initiated an English Week event held every fourth week of each month. This program began last February and will continue through June. Each month, we focusevent held every fourth week of each month. This program began last February and will continue through June. Each month, we focus on a specific theme that we share and explore with the learners, providing them with a fun and immersive way to practice and improve their English skills. The themed activities are designed to engage students in meaningful language use while fostering a greater appreciation for English in everyday contexts.
Theme for the Month of February: What's in my school bag?
In this presentation, Teacher Kate and I performed a short skit centered around the question, “What's in my school bag?” Our goal was to teach students how to respond confidently using a simple sentence pattern: “I have _____________ in my bag.” Through this interactive activity, students practiced identifying common school items and forming complete sentences, helping them build both vocabulary and sentence structure in a fun and engaging way.
Theme for the Month of March: Easter Sunday
In this presentation, a Grade 4 student and I prepared a short skit drama to teach the students of Chungshan about the symbolism of Easter. We crafted various props, including an Easter bunny, a large egg, and a basket, to make the story more engaging and visually appealing. After the skit, we held a question-and-answer session where the principal selected a student to answer three questions related to the presentation. Of course, prizes awaited the students who participated, adding excitement and motivation to the learning experience.

Theme for the Month of April: Earth Day
Using plastic bags, eco bags, and plastic bottles as props, Teacher Bonny and I performed a short drama to teach young learners about Earth Day. Through the skit, we emphasized the importance of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—and how these simple actions can help protect our planet. The interactive performance aimed to raise awareness and encourage students to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.

English Community Workshops
March 5, 2025
I conducted my final workshop with the English teachers, marking a meaningful conclusion to a series of collaborative professional development sessions. The primary objective of this workshop was to facilitate a thoughtful comparison between the learning styles and teaching strategies commonly used by Filipino and Taiwanese educators. Through guided discussions and shared experiences, we explored the strengths, challenges, and unique approaches of each educational culture.
This exchange of ideas not only fostered mutual understanding but also opened up opportunities for innovation in the classroom. Following the comparative discussions, the local teachers engaged in a brainstorming session where they identified best practices from both systems that could be adapted and applied within their own teaching context. The ultimate aim was to align these strategies with Taiwan's long-term goal of achieving a Bilingual Nation by 2030 .
The session highlighted the importance of flexibility, cultural awareness, and continuous learning in the journey toward bilingual education. It was a truly collaborative effort, and I was honored to be part of this exchange of knowledge and vision for the future of language learning in Taiwan.
January 09, 2025
I conducted a workshop designed to empower local teachers with practical skills in using various digital tools and educational platforms. The session focused on how to effectively utilize PowerPoint, Canva, Blooklet, Kahoot, Gimkit, and several other websites to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. The goal was to equip educators with innovative methods that make lessons more fun, dynamic, and impactful for their students.
Virtual Reality Demonstration
In pursuit of a more globalized and future-ready approach to education, the Academic Affairs Office and English teachers joined forces to move beyond traditional teaching methods by introducing innovative tools in the classroom. As part of this vision, they collaborated to demonstrate the use of Virtual Reality (VR) in teaching English—in teaching English—an effort aimed at creating a more immersive, interactive, and engaging learning environment for students.
This initiative reflects a growing commitment to integrating modern technology into language instruction, allowing learners to explore real-world scenarios, practice communication skills in virtual settings, and deepen their understanding of the English language in a dynamic and meaningful way. By embracing VR, the team hopes to not only enhance language acquisition but also prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
