Professor Brett Williams
Brett is Professor of Paramedicine and founding Director of International Engagement for the School of Primary and Allied Health Care, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Brett has been an academic leader in paramedicine educational research, scholarship and mentorship for over 20 years. Brett has won numerous national university teaching awards and has published 340 peer-reviewed publications, over 11,000 citations, presented conference work over 190 times, 20 book chapters and co-edited 3 textbooks. He is committed to professionalising paramedicine, and building capacity for paramedics and allied health personnel internationally. He has supervised 14 PhDs to timely completion and is currently supervising 10 PhD students.
Professor Tony Walker
Prof Tony Walker ASM is a Registered Paramedic with over 36 years’ experience working across senior clinical, operational and leadership roles within the ambulance sector. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Ambulance Victoria, where he led significant transformation to improve the health and wellbeing of their workforce and the response they provide to the community.
Tony is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Paramedicine and holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Studies, Graduate Certificate of Applied Management, Graduate Diploma of Emergency Health (MICA) and Master of Education. He is a non-executive Director of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, the Emergency Services Foundation and TLC for Kids, a Director of Fairhaven Consulting Pty Ltd, and an executive member of the Global Resuscitation Alliance and an Associate Investigator with the Australian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium.
Associate Professor Alan Eade
Alan was the first Chief Paramedic Officer appointed by the state government of Victoria, concluding his 6 years in post in April 2023. He is an experienced intensive care paramedic with a successful career in emergency ambulance settings, as well as event health and medical services. He previously held the position of Chief Commissioner at St John Ambulance Australia, and is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Paramedicine. He has an adjunct academic appointment at Monash University Department of Paramedicine.
Alan believes the delivery of great care is all about collaboration and cooperation between professions, with recognition that care is always delivered through a multi-disciplinary partnership. He is focused on strengthening relationships between paramedic and hospital-based professions in order to ensure integrated, best system performance is delivered to ensure the best patient outcomes for all Victorians.
