What is the current status of the prom, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 2, 2020?

At this point in time, the 2020 TVHS prom has been indefinitely postponed, in accordance with COVID-19 mandated closures. We are hopeful that we will be able to reschedule the prom for a later date, but have no further information at this time. A district communication will be sent out to families when new information is available from the state. Students will also be updated via their grade-level Google Classroom pages.

The following message was sent out to TVHS families on 4/6/20

"TVHS Juniors and Seniors--

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to announce that the 2020 junior/senior prom has been postponed.

I know how disappointing it is to learn that this important event cannot be held as planned. While this decision was a difficult one, the uncertainty of the current public health situation and the timing of when business closures and stay-at-home orders will be lifted makes it impractical to coordinate an event of this nature that is less than one month away.

Over the next several weeks, Mrs. Donatelli, our junior class advisor, will be meeting with the prom committee to discuss options, brainstorm solutions, and determine if it is possible to reschedule the prom. We will communicate any updates as soon as they become available.

How will students pay for tickets on time if the school is closed?

At this time, students should not submit payments for prom tickets. If the prom is able to be rescheduled, new information regarding registration and ticket purchase will be sent out.

The dance-guest pass requires a signature from a high school administrator. I am unable to get this form signed due to the current school closures, what should I do?

Complete as much of the form as possible at this time. High-school administration will handle the approval of all guests once schools are reopen. If you have specific questions regarding your guest, please contact Mr. Clements (wclements@tvsd.org) and your grade-level principal (kedwards@tvsd.info for juniors and mbarber@tvsd.info for seniors).
