Ms. Ruter

2nd and 3rd Grade Art Teacher - Intermediate Center

Hello artists! I am Ms. Ruter, your 2nd and 3rd grade art teacher.

I cannot believe how fast this school year flew! Our portfolios are finished and we are almost to our summer break. We did so many things this year from using our sketchbooks to learning how to use brainstorm and to use your art imagination. Please check out the slideshow below to see some of the amazing work our students have created in the art room this past year including how to see their virtual portfolio.

My amazing 2nd graders, I will see you in 3rd grade and I cannot wait to share the great lessons I have planned for you. Have a great summer!

My awesome 3rd graders, GOOD LUCK in 4th grade. I will miss you but I know you will do great and amazing things. Just remember all the creative things I taught you and how to problem solve you art ideas. Stay creative and as I ALWAYS say, practice makes awesome, so keep practicing your art skills. Have a great summer!

Virtual Art Show Update!

In lieu of an in person art show this year, our artists have been working hard all year to prepare a special virtual Google slideshow to showcase all of their hard work and amazing art work. Since their portfolios are virtual this year, you will also have the opportunity to view their portfolio as well as share it with others.

Please read the information and options below on how to view your student’s Google Art Portfolio.

The art portfolio is located in each students Gmail account in their google classroom and is permanently located in their google drive. And here are two options of how to get to those locations.

Option 1: On any computer or smartphone use the chrome browser or visit google.com and sign into your students VCS gmail account. From there, go into your students google drive, which can be found by clicking on the top right 9 dots waffle and click google drive, and you should see the Art Portfolio in "My Drive" as one of the saved slideshow documents . If not, do a quick search in the drive for Art Portfolio and it will pop right up. Just click on the document and you can put it in professional present mode by pressing on the Present button located on the top right to view it.

Option 2: Use a chromebook and navigate it as a student would to find their google classroom. In the google classroom, under classwork, you will find a assignment link labeled Art Portfolio. If you click on the assignment their portfolio will be displayed and you can put it in a professional present mode by pressing on the Present button located on the top right to view it.

I hope you enjoy seeing all of your artists amazing art work AND hard work as they created all those photos and slides themselves.

Happy Virtual Art Show Viewing!
