Mrs. Kennard

I'm Debbie Kennard, Speech Pathologist of 26 years, wife to Matt for 22 years and mother to Madison, Megan and Brandon. Madison is a junior at Florida State University, Megan is a freshman at Florida Southern College, and Brandon is a junior at VHS. This picture was taken in November of 2019 when we traveled with the senior members of the VHS Golden Girls to NYC to watch our girls perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. It was a once in a lifetime experience! I loved visiting the big apple, but I'm quite happy living in the small town of Fruitland Park. I enjoy travel, long walks with my miniature schnauzer, Sadie, family time and sports. You'll likely find me at VHS football and basketball games cheering on Brandon and the Buffalo. I'm looking foward to a fantastic 2020-2021 school year with you!

Hello Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade students and parents. For those of you who have chosen Buffao e-learning or VCS online, speech and language therapy will be provided via teletherapy using your child's Chromebook. E-mail me to set an appointment. I look forward to working with you! Please see below for tips and suggestions for online learning.

Welcome to Mrs. Kennard's Speech & Language therapy page. On this page you will find extension activities for you to practice speech and language skills and information pages for parents. (see below)

For students attending traditional school, I will be working with Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade students.

  • Kindergarten students will receive a folder containing items each student has completed. This will be sent home quarterly with progress reports for you to review with your child.

  • 2nd and 3rd grade speech students will receive a folder that they will bring to each therapy session. The folder should remain in their backpack so they will have it for home practice and ready to return on speech therapy days.

  • 2nd and 3rd grade language students will not have a folder. All work will be done in the therapy room. Occasionally, work will be sent home once it has been completed.

Speech and language therapy offically begins the week of August 24th and runs to the end of the school year.

If you have any questions about your child's speech/language therapy plan, I am happy to discuss it with you. Please e-mail me or call the school.

Kindly,

Debbie Kennard
