Mr. Christine
Tuslaw Elementary Principal
330-837-7809 ext 5124
My name is Matthew Christine and I have been a part of Tuslaw Local Schools since 2006. I first started coaching here in the fall of 2006 and then received a teaching position at the high school in 2010 after three years of teaching at Ashland High School. I taught high school science for fourteen years and am currently in my fourth year of administration. I have had the privilege of being the assistant principal at Tuslaw High School and the Director of Special Education for the district in that time. The Tuslaw district is a fantastic place to be because of the community. There is no better group of people than the students, parents and teachers of the district. School is an important part of this community and I love being a part of it.
I come from an educational background with both of my parents being teachers for thirty-five years as well as my father-in-law. My wife and I are raising two young girls who are both active in sports and other elementary-aged activities. Family is a priority to me, so in my free time, I love to go to many activities with them. We enjoy hiking, museums and other events in the area that are geared towards spending time together. In my upcoming newsletter, TES Spotlight, I will be sending some recommendations for area activities for families to enjoy together if you are looking for things to do. You might see us out enjoying one of those events.
My number one goal is to assist in continuing Tuslaw Elementary as a successful location for your family as well as an engaging place to learn. I pride myself on communication and being available to anyone who asks for my time. Please feel free to reach out to me at mchristine@tuslawschools.org or (330) 837-7809 ext 5124. I will get back to you as soon as possible. You and your children are a key reason for our success here at Tuslaw, and I can’t wait to build a positive relationship with all of you.
