Hello! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am currently starting my 24th year of teaching language arts. 23 of those have been here at East Prairie. I am lucky to be teaching in the school district that is responsible for helping me to become the teacher and person I am today. Yes, that means I am a true Tuscolian!

My husband and I are both TCHS graduates #alwaysawarrior. We have two children--Clayton who graduated from TCHS in 2021 and Mia who is a junior this year. Chad and I are blessed to be able to raise our children in our hometown where they can experience growing up in a community that truly cares about their well-being. We are also owners of my family furniture store in town, Kelsey Furniture. #opensince1959

Here at East Prairie, I teach 7th grade literature and composition. I am also a member of the MTSS (Multi-Tiered Support System) and PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) teams that meet once a month. I enjoy helping keep the stat books during basketball and volleyball seasons, which also provides me an opportunity to spend time building a good rapport with the students outside the classroom.

Although teaching is going to look a little different to all of us this year, #maskuptuscola, I am confident that all of my 7th graders will continue to receive the best education possible. The staff at East Prairie will continue to be here for and support our students to the best of our ability. We also rely on parents/guardians to be active in their child's education as the learning process does not just take place in the classroom.

I am only an email away, so please make sure you let me know if you have questions.

I look forward to teaching the love of reading and writing to all my 7th graders during the 2021-2022 school year.
