Day 7--8/30/14 History and Art
Today we took a ride down the Antelope Flats Road to what is now called Mormon Row. Leaders of the Mormon Church sent parties from the Salt Lake Valley to find new settlements to support their expanding population. The settlers first arrived here in the 1890's. The U.S. Post Office named this community Grovont now known as Mormon Row. The pioneers formed close-knit communities around their church and school, starkly contrasting with the pattern of isolation typical of many western homesteads.
