Day 5 - Scenic Views off the beaten path

We relaxed for awhile today before visiting the Ottawa House Museum for their Wild Bluberry Harvest Festival where we enjoyed blueberry cake with warm brown sugar sauce.   A 91 year old gentleman who called himself the Ambassador of Parrsboro sat and visited with us telling his many life stories of how it used to be!  Here’s some trivia for you blueberry lovers:

---Nova Scotia Provincial production is between 30-40 million pounds annually.

---The wild blueberry is the number 1 fruit crop in acreage, export sales, and value.

---NS Wild Blueberries are exported to US, Japan, Germany, UK and other countries.

---Harvesting of wild blueberries begins in early August and continues until late September.
