Day 14 - 9/4/2018 - Travel to Denali National Park

Today's weather:  High 50, low 43, Partly Cloudy

The mountain is gone!  That’s what the owner of our cabin told us this morning!  We are so glad we stayed in Talkeetna because although you are still over 100 miles to the entrance to Denali National Park, the mountain is very close here (58 miles).

We hopped on the Parks Highway again today and headed to Denali National Park.  As we drove through the foothills of the Alaska Range the terrain became more rugged as we gained elevation.  The foliage is starting to turn its fall colors and the temperature dropped to 43 degrees.  

We stopped and paid our respects at the Alaska Veterans Memorial.  It was built to honor Alaskans who served in all the wars.
