It's Electric

For over one hundred years gas guzzling cars have been in mass production and leading in transportation for the daily American. That is, until now. Big Corporations and car companies have been contemplating on the decision to completely convert their top selling vehicles to EV standard motors. Many, in fact, are already testing their ideas by incorporating hybrid options, and analyzing consumer reviews. This in fact has been ongoing since 1996, with the appearance of the EV 1. “We can’t just wake up in 2024 and tell everyone, hey, we went electric,” explains CEO of Dodge Motors Tim Kuniskis.
Although EVs, or electric vehicles, are becoming more appealing, many car and motor enthusiasts are highly concerned that the beloved American muscle era is coming to a near end. On the contrary, suggests the Washington Post, stating that the implementation of electric vehicles could possibly reinvent the American muscle car.
To add more panic to the muscle car community, Dodge Motors, who are notorious for their powerful high performance vehicles, are canceling the production on their top selling vehicles, the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger. Dodge states “the future is now”, and have progressed to stopping production on their popular HellCats, Srts branded cars, and are now focusing on more efficient use of power. As soon as 2024 the mass production of this line up will come to an official halt and they will not make anymore of these models but will still sell what they have in inventory. Now in their line of focus is producing an attractive vehicle with the heritage look, but of course EV converted.
As of right now they are one of two companies to completely dedicate themselves to EV power, one such company being Tesla. Other famous brand companies have fully adopted the ideas of EV rebranding, but are also watching the competition very closely. It is predicted that by 2024 the first big burst of the mass production of EVs will commence, with many high hopes of replacing the current “platforms” on the road.
CEO Tim Kuniskis recently announced to the press that the Dodge company would have their first pure EV by the start of 2024 with the possibility to start by the end of 2023. Dodge states that eventually their future platforms will offer a variety of models, designed to appeal to all buyers, from sportier models to family cruising. More powerful EV cars are planned to arrive shortly after the launch, including select parts and optional body kits. This is to be followed by two more big concept platforms that Dodge has high hopes for, one being a plug-in hybrid and a mysterious new vehicle that has yet to even be released. There is no word on what would come to happen to the SUV lineup that Dodge offers. It is predicted that eventually the EV concepts would spread over the 4x4 world and change that end of the spectrum. Dodge says that their famous Durango would now carry a new badging logo and would be considered a PHEV and would only be an addition to the SUV family. “It will be a new car,” Kunskis said, and will eventually go into production by 2023 and be revealed to the public. Dodge is also putting a temporarily hold on the of starting sedans.
The starting price of the EV SUVs is still not known but it is estimated to be in the high 50’s if not mid 40’s. It is not known how long the charging process for said vehicles will take, but experts are foreshadowing that it should compare with competing brands, if not less time. Dodge has not yet stated if their prototypes will be compatible with now placed Tesla charging stations, or if they plan on setting stations of their own. Tesla also has yet to comment.
Dodge has released small clips of their concept car and misleading photos but the new EV has been revealed for the first time recently, and was open for the public eye to see the “Dodge Daytona Concept Car.” Technicians at Dodge have stated that it is planned that their concept car will first hit the road in 2024, after every and all safety precautions have been tested. The starting price for said concept car is predicted to be about roughly $40,000 at the starting price. You can expect big projects and obstacles coming from Dodge in the coming year, especially since they have in a sense sacrificed their most profitable cars, completely stopping production and veering into a different direction. Sooner or later Dodge will inevitably become one the world's top EV-producing companies and will be a worthy competitor with Tesla.
