STEM^3 Professional Development
Coaching, Collaboration & Community
The STEM^3 Professional Development Series brings together teachers and local experts in curriculum and content to focus on Three Dimensional Learning: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas. Participants will gain a better understanding of how the three dimensions work together to create students capable of thinking and working like scientists. The local resource team will help build capacity and confidence while providing deep content, rigorous curriculum and years of experience in all things STEM. This model capitalizes on our local talent, promotes internal leadership within our community to sustain a higher degree of PD.
Areas of focus include:
- Providing participants with tools and practice aligning instructional materials to the three dimensions of OAS for Science.
- Develop 3-D lessons based on adopted instructional materials.
- Provide opportunity to reflect and refine lessons based on assessments and artifacts from students.
- Provide opportunity to analyze data through the lens of the new standards to inform changes in district pacing guides and curriculum maps.
Session Dates:
