English Department

The English Department's mission is to provide students with a rich and varied English Language environment and experience so that they can be competent and confident in using English for different purposes. An English Day, in which there are such activities as English morning assemblies hosted by English Ambassadors and speaking activities, is held per cycle. Thus students can have more opportunities to use English beyond class time. Different form-based English learning activities related to Language Arts are organised for students of different forms during life-wide learning periods every year. At the same time, the English-rich environment, which is of equal significance, has been enhanced with the continuing efforts of Native English teachers and other English teachers through activities organised and programmes designed to increase students' exposure to the environment. English Day and Englishland are among those that can help students immerse in the environment.
