What do we have planned this year?
This year, the English Department has regular activities on Mondays during lunch time with the NETs and other English teachers!
We have a total of 16 English Monday(s) and 6 English Speaking Days scheduled.
English Mondays & English Speaking Days
The themes for English Mondays are more flexible while the English Speaking Days are focused on specific topics.
All students are provided with a Speaking Passport that they can use to collect stamps.

There are a lot of fascinating animals all around the world. Did you know that Hong Kong has a few species that are unique to us?
On this day, students were invited to:
Play Animal Charades,
Make their own animal origami and/or,
Share interesting animal facts with the NETs and local English teachers.

Play a card matching game,
Talk about their shopping habits and,
Vote for their preferred mode of shopping.

It's been some time since our school picnic but we can still look back on happy memories.
Our English panel chairs, Miss Ng and Miss Chan, as well as our NETs, Miss Wania and Miss Gulapa, created their own sample comic for the students to read aloud.
Some students even made up their own comic to share with us!
English Monday | 13th Oct 2025
To celebrate International Teachers' Day (which was on 5th October this year), students were invited to write cards that expressed their appreciation to their teachers.
These cards were later attached to the glass wall near the front entrance of the school. During the activity, the display served as inspiration for their peers, giving them an idea of what they could write.
After the activity, it showed that our teachers' efforts do not go unnoticed by our students! After taking down the materials, the cards were hand-delivered to their respective recipient teachers.
English Monday | 20th Oct 2025
Our Halloween-themed card games were a hit! A lot of students were interested in guessing the secret word in Taboo or comparing their monster cards in Monster Showdown.
These simple yet fun games ensured that all students had a chance to play and interact with the NETs and English teachers that joined our activity!
Some students preferred having a relaxing, casual chat instead, discussing all things spooky and scary.
All participants were given a sweet treat for participating.
English Monday | 15th Sept 2025
New Year, New Teachers!
Miss Gulapa, Miss Wania and Miss Ning are 3 new English teachers who joined the TSTSS teaching staff this year.
Students were invited to engage in small talk and play a little ice-breaking game with the NETs on the ground floor.
Miss Chan and Miss Ng joined in, and so did a few other teachers!

You are what you read!
If you're not interested in fiction, there's still a lot of books that you can read!
If you're interested in someone's life, you can read a biography about them.
If you want to learn new recipes, you can read a cookbook. If you're into fashion, why not take a gander at a few Vogue magazines?
English Speaking Day | 29th Sept 2025
Isn't the moon beautiful tonight?
People usually celebrate by enjoying some mooncakes, going moon-watching, and solving tricky riddles.
We figured - why not bring a bit of that festive spirit to school by asking students to answer a few brain teasers?
Some students even prepared their own riddles for us to figure out!
