An advisory committee at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a group of individuals typically composed of industry professionals, alumni, and community leaders who provide guidance and support to the college's programs. These boards are established to ensure that the curriculum and training offered by TSTC align with the needs and demands of the industries they serve.
The success of our programs in preparing a student to meet the job market requirements of a particular industry is dependent upon a close cooperation among TSTC and the businesses/industries who will be seeking our graduates as employees. One method of ensuring this close cooperation is to utilize an advisory committee made up of prospective employers and their employees. These committee members are professionals who can advise the teaching and administrative staff on establishing and maintaining a quality program – one that is current and provides an education that fulfills the needs of an entry-level employee.
Contact the Advisory Committee Lead (advisorycommittees@tstc.edu). A member request form must be signed to become a voting member of the board.
Advisory committees typically meet once or twice per academic year.
If you are unable to attend, please appoint a qualified representative from your company to attend in your absence.
