Welcome to 2019-2020 fourth grade!

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

-William Butler Yeats

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and ready to learn new and exciting knowledge, make memorable experiences in 4th grade, and grow. I am looking forward to meeting and learning about each one of you. This is my first year at Mintonye Elementary School and I am so blessed to be here.

I will be co-teaching with Mrs. Geiger this year and we have so many wonderful things to share with you and your child.

My teaching philosophy is that in order for a child to grow well is to have everyone involved in their growth. I go by the old quote-"It takes a village to raise a child." I apply to my teaching as well. I would love parents to be involved in their child's education.

If problems arise, I ask you to help me in finding a solution to the identified problem. I promise to always be respectful to your child and to you. I ask that we work as a team this year and know that I am here to help your child in this year's journey. I will always be there when they face challenges and will guide them to make good choices, work hard, gain confidence, and to grow more independent.

I am always available to speak to you when you need it. Understand that during the school day I cannot always answer your phone calls. Below I will give my email as I do check that often throughout the day. I also plan on using Class Dojo this year in order for me to be able to take photos of the school day to show you all what your children are learning.

If you would not like your child to be photographed and placed on the Dojo account, please let me know in advance. It is also a faster method of communication. I will have that set up as soon as I have an updated roster. I will email the link at a later date.

Please take some time to peruse through my web page to familiarize yourself with our daily schedule, my classroom policies and procedures, and also about me!

Below I have provided my email address.

Below I have placed a picture for this year's school supply list. Throughout the school year, we will need some school supplies replenished so we can always be prepared for school.

Items we usually need every few months:

  • Pencils
  • Glue sticks
  • tissues
