Room 18

Hello!! My name is Morgan Toby, and I am so super excited that you and I will get to spend time this year in 4th grade learning and growing each day. This year the 4th grade team has decided to departmentalize in order to offer the best education possible to your child. Mrs. Butcher will be teaching math, science, and social studies, and I will be teaching reading and writing. Students will begin their day with me and then after specials head to Mrs. Butcher's room. After lunch and recess, the students will end the day in my room with reading and writing.

I am anxious to meet each and every one of you! I am excited to be back at Mayflower this year teaching 4th grade. I completed my student-teaching in 5th grade at Mayflower. After graduating from Purdue, I taught high school biology, health, and anatomy for a year and a half before deciding to head back to elementary. I grew-up in the Indianapolis area with my mom, dad, brother (Nick), and sister (Jordan). This past spring, my fiancee proposed, and I said yes. So I am excited to be planning wedding details. :) My fiancee lives in Lubbock, Texas. He is currently working on earning his master's degree in toxicology. He is researching bees. My mom is a 5th grade teacher in Indianapolis, and my sister is a senior at Purdue in elementary education. So you could say we are quite the family of teachers, my poor dad! My mom and dad are both graduates from Purdue as well as a majority of my relatives; we are a Boilermaker family for sure! My brother will be a senior this year, and we are hoping for another Boilermaker!

For fun, I enjoy running. I ran my first marathon, and probably only, last year. I also enjoy spending time with my family and playing board games with them (we are a bit competitive). Growing up, I played soccer for 11 years, and I played a few years of volleyball as well.

My fiancee (Eric) and me.

Very proud to be a Purdue Boilermaker Alumni!

My wonderful, goofy, and crazy family!

This summer I hiked to the top of a mountain in Carson National Forest in New Mexico. I would have to say that the 4 mile uphill hike to the top was definitely worth the view! I hope you had a great summer vacation!
