Mr. Boesch Physical Education

Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

My name is Michael Boesch and this will be my first year as a Physical Education teacher. I will be teaching at Mayflower Mill Elementary School and Battle Ground Intermediate School. I am excited to be a part of the Tippecanoe School Corporation family! In addition to my teaching job, I have a young family of four that keeps me busy all year round!

I grew up in Clinton County, Indiana and participated in a number of sports and other extracurricular activities throughout high school such as cross country, wrestling, track, and 4-H to name a few. After high school, I attended Purdue University and graduated with a degree in Business Management through Purdue’s Krannert School of Management. Upon graduation, I was hired as a police officer and attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy shortly after in 2002. I have been a police officer most of my adult life in the greater Lafayette community. During this time, I instructed several law enforcement disciplines including defensive tactics, firearms, and many others. I have taught RADKids, R.A.D, S.A.F.E. and other community outreach programs that focus on safety and wellbeing. I am completing a transition to teaching curriculum through Taylor University and transitioning out of law enforcement to teach full-time.

I truly believe that physical activity can help every student. I want my students to be excited and look forward to PE class each week. My students will participate in a variety of physical activities that will help them learn and develop skills they will be able to use the rest of their lives. I will use the BEST grading scale each week and will discuss the expectations with my students.

B = Behavior 3.5 points

E = Effort 3.5 points

S = Skill 2 points

T = Tennis Shoes 1 point

Students will be able to earn ten point each day. Points will be deducted for behavioral issues that disrupt the class, not putting forth effort, wearing inappropriate shoes that could cause injury during class, or fail to accomplish certain basic skills that align with the Indiana state standards.
