Mission Statement:

  • The mission of the Cole Elementary School Counseling Program is to empower all students to have a successful educational experience by providing services in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional development. The program provides counseling services to help students develop skills that will aid them in their ability to overcome challenges and make healthy choices while also providing a safe and supportive environment to do so.

Vision Statement:

  • The vision of the Cole Elementary School Counseling Program is for all students to be empowered in using the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve academic, social/emotional, and career success, and to reach their fullest potential as respectful, responsible citizens who are lifelong learners.

Confidentiality:

  • Confidentiality is essential for the school counselor to maintain a trusting and supportive relationship with students. Students are informed that what they discuss with Mrs. Burton is kept private or a "secret" unless they are in danger, someone else is in danger, or if they give permission to the counselor to share the information with a trusted adult. If a student shares information that is believed to be crucial to his or her safety or well-being, the student will be informed that parent(s)/guardian(s) must be notified.
What you say in here, stays in here. Except if someone is hurting you, you want to hurt someone, you want to hurt yourself.
