Welcome to Kindergarten!  I am very excited to be starting my fifth year Mayflower Mill.  This will be my 26th year teaching and I love what I do! I taught kindergarten previously for twelve years at the Benton Community School Corporation.  In my teaching career I have taught in many different positions. I taught for the Head Start program in Lafayette for 4 years and then did a Mentor Coaching position for a year with the program.  I have taught for the Lafayette School Corporation with Greater Lafayette Area Special Services. I taught a preschool Emotional Disability classroom and also two preschool Language Groups for children with speech delays.  I also did some consulting for children at the Purdue Lab School with special needs. I have taken additional course work in Gifted and Talented Education.

I grew up in Earl Park and attended Benton Community Schools.  After high school, I attended Purdue University where I get a degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, and a Kindergarten Endorsement.  I live outside Otterbein with my husband, Mike, and our two sons. Tristin is 20 years old.  Korbin is 17 and will be a senior at Benton Central.  I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, exercising, and camping. 

My goal this year is to introduce your child to school in a positive way, teach them valuable social skills, and introduce academics in a fun way.  Kindergarten will be a fun and exciting year for your child! We will be learning new things together every day and my hope is that your child comes home from Kindergarten eager to tell you about all the fun they had!
