The Harriet Taylor Upton House was built by General Simon Perkins in 1840 and became the home of women’s suffrage leader Harriet Taylor Upton in 1887. It also served as the headquarters for the National American Women’s Suffrage Association from 1903 until 1905.

The Romanesque-style Trumbull County Courthouse was completed in 1897. One of the oldest judicial facilities of its kind in Ohio, it was placed on the National Registry of Historic Sites in 1975.
