Hubbard Historical Society was chartered in 1984 for the purpose to collect, preserve and exhibit buildings, books, records, artifacts or items of interest relating to the history of the City of Hubbard and Hubbard Township.

The McBride House, 27 Hager St., Hubbard, was established as the Hubbard Historical Society's home in 1997. The lot on which the house now stands was originally owned by Samuel Tylee, first settler of Hubbard. The house was built in 1883 and sold to John McBride in 1909. It remained in the McBride family until 1995, and was donated to the Hubbard Historical Society by Rite Aid, which had purchased the corner properties to build its retail pharmacy.
