The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum was founded in 2013 by Willam A. Griffin. Its purpose is to honor those who made significant contributions to aviation. The museum houses various collectables, displays, pictures, models and actual aircrafts of historical significance. We provide interesting and enjoyable educational programs for area elementary & high school projects. We also provide tours, videos, Wings & Wheels Fly Ins as well as flight simulators.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and encourage memberships, donations, sponsorships and grants.
The museum is handicap accessible and parking lot is paved. Be aware that the museum is located at an active airport.
The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum is located on the Sloas family farm airstrip built by Ray Sloas in 1948. The former site of Ernie Hall's flight school is now the Cross Wind Landing's housing development and Howland Township Park. Ernie's original hangar was located on the west side of Route 46 directly across from Squires Lane in Howland. In 1973, one year after Ernie Hall passed away, his hangar was disassembled and moved to the new site of the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. The hangar was being re-erected when a windstorm blew the structure down. Our museum is a replica of Ernie Hall's original hangar.
