Xing "Wake" Xu, Head Coach

Coach Wake started fencing at the age of 13 and was a member of the Chinese National Men's Epee team. Coach Wake was also the head coach for the Chinese Junior and Cadet National Epee Teams (men's and women's). Under his tutelage, the Chinese Cadet Men's Epee team won the Asian Championship in men's team event in 2019, in addition to numerous international individual and team titles. Coach Wake brings decades of experience of developing youth fencers into international champions.

Sorah Shin, Epee Coach

Coach Sorah started fencing in high school and trained under four-time Soviet National Champion Tigran Shaginian. Coach Sorah's unique, personable approach to developing youth fencers has been highly acclaimed and her students have consistently ranked in the top 10 in the nation, including receiving a Coach's medal for the National Championship title in Y12 men's epee.

Hannah Safford

Strength and Conditioning

Coach Hannah is a former member and assistant coach of the Princeton Fencing Team (NCAA Div1). Led Princeton to four Ivy League Championships and the first NCAA Championship. Gold, US Y14 National Championship; 2x gold, Junior World Cup; silver, US Division 1 National Championship; bronze, Junior World Championship. Coach Hannah is also an accomplished marathoner and triathlete.
